Halloween Happenings

The morning started with pumpkin pancakes.  A hit.

The girls before going trick-or-treating.  You can see my creativity this year came from the dress up box.  But, hey!  I let them have glittery eyeshadow and lipstick!  They loved being princesses.  I mean really, how long will that last?

The first house we hit up.  The girls had such a blast and I was so impressed with their nice manners!  They did a good job taking turns on ringing the doorbell too.  (Which made me laugh, because my brother and I *never* wanted to knock/ring the doorbell.  Two extreme introverts + Halloween = lots of prompting from Mom!)

To add to the "treats" I took the girls out to have Happy Meals, a VERY rare treat indeed!  They loved it!

When we got home, we dumped out all their loot and munched on candy with Charlie while watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" on Hulu in my bedroom.  Great fun, and everyone went to bed with a tummy ache (a mark of a truly fun Halloween) and throughly brushed teeth.  Then, I swiped all the dark chocolate and York Peppermint Patties for my secret stash.
I hope everyone had a nice evening!  We are looking forward to All Saints/All Souls tomorrow and Tuesday!

October 1: Our Favorite Saint's Day!

Happy feast of St. Therese!  This is a special day in our home, as she and her family have been faithful intercessors and friends to us.  In fact, it is also the "Name Day" for our littlest girl, who was named after St. Therese after she (the Saint) was very powerfully involved in our prayers concernining fertility and babies at the time.  St. Therese has played an important role to me as an individual and has helped me to fall in love with our Father more and more.  I really do love her dearly.

To celebrate today, we are keeping it simple, but remembering her, asking for her prayers, and celebrating the little one's name day with a tasty dessert.  We are also enjoying a lovely coloring sheet, and I'm thinking about making sacrifice beads with the big girls later on tonight after the baby is in bed.

Our dear, sweet friend, St. Therese, pray for us!
